The first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2021 season release Tuesday night and with that comes a power-rated look at how the selection committee views teams heading into the stretch run. Strength of schedule and on-field dominance has the most significant impact on the first poll and during a season of parity, only a few unblemished teams remain.

According to ESPN's Football Power Index, which is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season, not every unbeaten is created equal and only three teams currently have a 59% or greater shot at reaching the Playoff.

The national championship picture will be decided over the next few weeks leading up to conference championship weekend in December. Surprisingly, one-loss Oklahoma State and Oregon have less than a 5% chance, respectively, of getting to the final four according to ESPN's FPI.
