First Round

Bradley Chubb Denver Broncos

Good height and looks long but frame has not yet been verified. Owns college-ready size as an edge rusher and appears to possess frame potential to bulk into typical strong-side type with scheme versatility. Experience in a three-point stance and standing on the edge, though much more often the former as a junior. Flashes impressive pursuit ability with playmaking closing speed. Consistently shows legit chase-down athleticism and will walk you down from the back side if left unblocked. Owns stack-and-shed strength vs. bigger offensive linemen. If he gets you on your heels, will literally throw you aside. Active hands. Regularly disengages to make plays, whether vs. run or as a pass-rusher. A natural pass-rusher who is particularly dangerous in that department when lined up wide. Shows encouraging fluidity and bend relative to size. Noticeably more fluid with improved lateral range in junior season. Runs the arc well and goes for the ball when he gets home. Instincts and feel for rushing the passer are obvious. Great at setting you up outside and countering inside. Motor runs very hot. Faces outstanding competition in practice and games relative to the high school level. Athletic background includes basketball and track and field. Screams off the edge at times but can improve get-off consistency. Makes a ton of plays but can get better in tackling technique consistency as well. Perhaps a bit of positional ambiguity from a projection standpoint, but does not need to be overthought in that regard. Will likely fit multiple roles in varying schemes. Bottom line: through junior year, looks like one of the nation's top defensive prospects in the 2022 class. Projects as an elite high-major impact player with early-round NFL Draft potential.
